I’m Gareth Harmer, and I design and make windows for public and private buildings, offering a range of traditional and modern design elements.
As well as windows, I design and make lamps, artworks and LED installations. Much of my work involves glass painting, using traditional kiln-fired vitreous paint, and sometimes I create bespoke pieces of fused glass.
This website is named after the book ‘Stained Glass Work’ by Christopher Whall (1849-1924). The traditional techniques involved in making stained glass panels are described in his inspirational book.
Working from my home studio in London, I am responsible for every stage of the process – here is a short video showing my work on a recent project.
